Tovino had earlier told us that the movie’s story spans from a guy’s college years to his mid 30s. The team in 2019 also announced that Soubin Shahir will be playing the other male lead of the film. It’s not clear if the latter is still part of the project.
Meanwhile, according to reports, Kalyani has been cast as its female lead. The actress has also signed three more Malayalam movies this year, one of which has Asif Ali in the lead and the other two are helmed by debutants. The actress, who is also part of Vineeth Sreenivasan’s Hridayam with Pranav Mohanlal and Darshana Rajendran, has a few more scenes to shoot in the film that will be completed in March.
She is currently awaiting the release of Marakkar: Arabikadalinte Simham, which has Mohanlal in the lead and is helmed by her father Priyadarshan. In an earlier interview with us, Kalyani talked about shooting for her dad’s film. “I would say it was the scariest experience. I knew I was terrified, but the funny part was that my dad, who had directed 90-odd movies, was equally nervous whenever it was my shot,” she said. “I felt everybody there could hear my heartbeat because it was that loud; and it was something that has never happened to me before. In fact, one of the reasons why acha told me that I should work with other directors before him was because he knew that both of us would be extra nervous when we are working together. He wanted me to be comfortable with the camera before working with him. Despite all that I could feel my heart thumping. After the first shot, Ani (IV Sasi’s son), who is the assistant director and co-scriptwriter of the film, came up to me and said, ‘Da before that shot, I swear I felt your father take a deep breath and prayed that all went well.’”
