Recently, the actor said that it was a challenging character for him. He wrote on his online page:

Earlier, the actor had told us in an interview, “I play a police officer, I had a military cut. I have since grown my hair and bread during the lockdown. It feels good as I never had a chance to do this, though in Ramante Edanthottam, I have a similar look. I have tanned a bit to play the character. The film is going to be different from Martin’s previous films.” He had also hinted that the film will deal with a “serious topic”.
The movie also has Joju George and Nimisha Sajayan in lead roles. Shahi Kabir, who had written the script of Joju’s critically acclaimed film Joseph, has penned this film’s script. But, the team has already made it clear that though ‘Nayattu’ is also a police story, it bears no resemblance to the story of ‘Joseph.’ The ‘Nayattu’ crew had shot a major portion of the film even before the onset of Covid – 19. This is the first time that Martin Prakkat is doing a thriller.
Mahesh Narayanan is doing the editing of the film and ‘Ambili’ fame Vishnu Vijay is composing the music.
