Mohanlal’s ‘Barroz’ to start rolling in a week; team preps in Kochi

Right now Mohanlal is a busy bee and does not have a moment to waste. Mohanlal is currently making the necessary preparations for his upcoming project ‘Barroz – Guardian of D’Gama’s Treasure’. The film marks the maiden directorial venture of Mohanlal, and his team has kickstarted the production process on Monday. The art department has started to erect the set of the film. And recently Mohanlal has disclosed that they are planning to start shooting by March.

Antony Permbavoor, who is producing the film under the banner Aashirvad Cinemas, shared that “Barroz- Guardian of D Gamas Treasure Set Work In Cochin Started Today
Rolling Soon 🔜 ,” in his Facebook post on Monday.

‘Barroz – Guardian of D’Gama’s Treasure’ is a 3D fantasy film. The film is adapted from Jijo Punnoose’s story in the same name. Jijo Punnoose is a veteran filmmaker, who is best known for making ‘My Dear Kuttichathan’, India’s first 3D film. He is also the first person in South Indian cinema to make a film (Padayottam) in 70 mm format. ‘Barroz – Guardian of D’Gama’s Treasure’ is considered as a massive milestone in Mohanlal’s career as this is the first time the actor is attempting to direct a film in his 42 years long career.

National award-winning cinematographer Santosh Sivan will be cranking the lens, while child prodigy Lydian Nadhaswaram is composing the music. Actors Rafael Amargo and Paz Vega will play the characters of Vasco Da Gama and his wife respectively in the film.
