While the film is already screening in Telangana, the Bandh in Andhra Pradesh against the move to privatise Visakhapatnam Steel Plant has forced the theaters to cancel shows in some areas.

Billed to be the partial remake of Tamil film ‘Natpe Thunai’, A1 Express is directed by Dennis Jeevan Kanukolanu and bankrolled by Vishwa Prasad and Abhishek Aggarwal. It is being promoted as the first Hockey-based film in Telugu cinema and the most ambitious project of Sundeep. To fit the bill as a sportsman, he underwent a major transformation during the lockdown and acquired a chiselled body.
Speaking about her role in the sports-drama, Lavanya said “My character in the film is close to how I am in real life – she’s fierce and straight-forward. She was none-the-less challenging to play because despite playing sports all my life, I had never played hockey. I practiced extensively to pick up the body language of a hockey player and even watched multiple matches. It was difficult but I truly enjoyed the process.”
