Aakanksha has taken a break from television to focus on films. We asked her if it was worth taking the risk and if she is happy with the film projects being offered to her. To which, she replied, “Taking break from television was a conscious decision and yes, I think it’s absolutely worth it because I’m loving the kind of roles I am getting and the fact that I am able to play different characters and not get stuck with one.”
In TV, Aakanksha has played lead characters. And the actress said that she is getting lead roles in films too. “I am working in the South Indian film industry for past some time and whatever films I have done, I have done as lead. In Bollywood, it takes time to get the desired role. But with Mayday (her upcoming film with Ajay Devgn and Amitabh Bachchan), I think that I am achieving that slowly. It’s a big project for me.”
So what are the factors she considers before signing a film? “The first thing that I consider is the role I am doing and the importance of my character in the film. Then, of course the storyline and the actors working on the projects are also some of the factors that I consider,” she told us.
Aakanksha recently got a handwritten letter from Amitabh Bachchan. She will be seen alongside him and Ajay Devgn in Mayday. The actress took to social media to express her excitement and gratitude. She shared with us, “The feeling can’t be described in words. It still feels like a dream. I was so so happy as I was not expecting it. It just happened and I’m glad that he really liked what I wrote for him, and in return I got his response which is so precious.”
