Aishwarya Rajesh’s film with R Kannan begins with a pooja

We had told you recently that Aishwarya Rajesh will team with director R Kannan for the Tamil remake of the Malayalam film, The Great Indian Kitchen. A source had told us that the team is likely to begin shooting by the first week of March. And today, the team comprising Kannan, Aishwarya Rajesh and other crew members began the project with a pooja that was held in the city.

The film, backed by Kannan, will have Balasubramaniam as the DOP, Savari Muthu and S Jeevitha Sureshkumar penning the dialogues, Leo John Paul as the editor and Rajkumar as the art director for the film. The Malayalam film won rave reviews for its realistic portrayal of Indian families. Aishwarya Rajesh will be playing the lead role, and the team is on the lookout for other actors to play important roles in the film.

The team will begin shoot in Karaikudi soon, and they will be shooting for a stretch of 30-35 days. The original version in Malayalam had Nimisha Sajayan and Suraj Venjaramoodu in the lead roles, under Jeo Baby‘s directorial. Kannan has also bagged the Telugu remake rights; we wonder who is he planning to cast for the Telugu version.
