On Tuesday, the official social handle of RRR shared a BTS video from the sets in which Rajamouli and Nick are conceptualising an action sequence with creative inputs from each other. A lot of ropes and blue mats have been implemented in this part of shoot. Besides being an action director, Nick Powell is a martial artist, swordsman, actor and stunt coordinator. He worked for epic films like Braveheart, Gladiator and Resident Evil: Retribution. Besides RRR, he recently coordinated an action sequence in Prabhas’ Radhe Shyam.
Set against the pre-independence era of the 1920s where India in under colonial rule, RRR is a fictional tale that hypothetically juxtaposes the journeys of Komaram Bheem and Alluri Sitarama Raju. While Junior NTR is playing the former in this period-actioner, Ram Charan will be seen as the latter. Starring Bollywood actors Ajay Devgn and Alia Bhatt in crucial cameos, the 450 crore budgeted project features acclaimed foreign actors like Olivia Morris, Alison Doody and Ray Stevenson. The film is slated for a worldwide release on October 13.
Initially scheduled for a global release in 2020, the shooting of RRR got halted for seven months as the pandemic played spoilsport. However, after resumption, the remaining portions are being wrapped up in back-to-back schedules.
