I don’t have a problem if the actor playing my son or daughter is my age: Garima Singh

Garima Vikrant Singh, who is currently seen in the TV show Namak Issk Ka in which she plays the role of mother-in-law, says she has no qualms about playing older roles at her age. In fact, she says that the age of the character doesn’t matter when she selects a role.

The actress made her acting debut with Choti Bahu 2 when she was just 23-years-old and played the role of a mother to an actor almost her own age. Garima says, “I have been offered to play the role of a mother or mother-in-law to actors who are equal to my age. However, that doesn’t matter to me, what really makes a difference is the screen time and content offered to me. I feel that playing the role of a mother is as important as the lead role. I feel
saas bahu sagas are more interesting to watch than romantic shows. I personally feel that they lure in more viewers due to their content and anything that helps the show get better is always good.”

The actress, who’s in her 30s, feels that it’s fine to play older roles given there’s more screen time. She adds, “I don’t have any problem when the actor playing my daughter or son is my age. In fact, I make them feel that I am their mother with my acting skills (laughs!). My performance and my character are important to me; age doesn’t matter.”
