The approval of late-night shows has come as a great relief to the producers and exhibitors, as the lion’s portion of the revenue is generated from late-night shows. Although the theatres in Kerala reopened on January 13, the movie industry was still struggling with the lockdown blues.
Mammootty’s ‘The Priest’ was scheduled to release on March 4, as the team was expecting a nod for conducting late-night shows from the first of March, however, as there was no confirmation from the authorities, the team decided to postpone the release.
Following the latest approval to conduct late-night shows, ‘The Priest’ has announced its new release date. The film will hit the screens on March 11 and interestingly it also becomes the first multi-starrer Malayalam film to hit the screens, post lockdown.
