Among many fans, Irfan’s ‘Cobra’ director, Ajay Gnanamuthu, also congratulated the cricketer. Former Indian cricketer, Irfan Pathan, is making his big screen debut with ‘Cobra’, which has Vikram in the lead role. It has only been a few days since Irfan came back to India after completing a shooting schedule in Russia. Congratulating Irfan for his on-field performance, Ajay Gnanamuthu, on his social media page, writes, “Well played @IrfanPathan sir!! Superb all-round performance #RoadSafetyWorldSeries.”

‘Cobra’ is an action thriller and it has other actors, including Srinidhi Shetty and Miya, playing prominent roles. This film marks the Kollywood debut of ‘KFG fame’ Srinidhi Shetty. Malayalam actor Roshan Mathew is also part of the film. The film’s music is by AR Rahman.
Though, Irfan is excited about making his film debut with ‘Cobra’, in a recent interview with us recently, he had mentioned that cricket would remain his first priority. “Even though I have retired from the game, my first priority will always be cricket. I love doing commentary and helping out junior cricketers whenever I can. I have got offers to do Malayalam and Telugu films also, but I first want to finish my ongoing project and see how the audiences respond. If the feedback is good and I get time after my other commitments to cricket, I am open to doing more movies,” he had told us.
