Produced by Gauri Khan, Alia Bhatt, and Gaurav Verma, ‘Darlings’ will feature Alia Bhatt, Shefali Shah, Vijay Varma, and Roshan Mathew in the lead roles.
‘Darlings’ is a special movie in many aspects as the film marks Alia Bhatt’s maiden production venture. It was on Sunday night, Alia Bhatt announced her production banner ‘Eternal Sunshine Productions. The film is directed by Jasmeet K Reen and this also marks her debut as a filmmaker.
A title poster was launched along with the announcement today and it comes with a statutory warning, which says “Auraton ka apmaan aapki sehat ke liye bahut haanikar ho sakta hai (Offending women can be very dangerous for your health).”
According to the reports, the film is a dark comedy, set in Mumbai against the backdrop of a lower-middle-class neighbourhood, and actors Shefali Shah and Alia Bhatt will be playing the mother-daughter duo.
Well, it’s an exciting piece of news for Malayalam cinema, as Roshan Mathew too is a part of the film! He has already marked his presence in Bollywood with ‘Choked’, a film directed by Anurag Kashyap.
