Actor Vijay Deverakonda managed to break his own record and has amassed 11M followers on Instagram as of Saturday.
He is one of the few actors from Tollywood who enjoy a massive fan following from across the country and has reportedly become the first South Indian actor (male) to have achieved this number. Despite being one of the most-followed stars, Vijay doesn’t follow anyone on social media. In an interview he once said, “I usually like to send love back to fans by sending out ice cream trucks on my birthday or even the recent Middle Class Fund, which raised funds for struggling middle class families during the pandemic. It’s important to stay in touch with fans but I’ve never been into social media. I have a team that takes care of everything with my approval. I don’t follow anyone for the same reason, as I don’t use these platforms. I am only there to stay in touch with fans.”
Vijay Deverakonda is currently acting in Puri Jagannadh’s pan-Indian film Liger. Bollywood filmmaker Karan Johar is also jointly producing the film with Charmme as it’ll hit screens in Hindi too. Actress Ananya Panday will make her debut down south with this film while Vijay makes his debut in Bollywood. The actor underwent martial arts training for the film and is often spotted at the gym when he’s in the city. Fans are expecting high-octane action sequences in Liger, which will be new to Vijay’s filmography. He has given his nod to act with Sukumar after this.
