Releasing the poster on social media, Vikram Prabhu wrote, #Taanakkaran. Happy to be part of this story telling. Truly a tough script to shoot, physically and mentally demanding but we had a team that worked together to achieve something special. Wishes to my entire team & as always, need your love & support #Tamizh (sic).”
The film is reportedly based on a real-life incident that happened in Tamil Nadu, and co-stars Anjali Nair (of Nedunalvaadai fame) in the lead. A source says, “Tamizh is a former associate of Vetri Maaran, and this will be his debut film. Ghibran has composed the music and Madhesh Manickam has handled the camera.”
It was speculated that the film would release for Christmas, but now, looks like the makers are vying for a suitable date soon. Meanwhile, Vikram Prabhu will be finishing work on his other films, including Pulikkuthi Pandi, Paayum Oli Nee Yenakku and Mani Ratnam’s magnum opus, Ponniyin Selvan.
