According to a report in a news portal, celebrated Bengali director Kaushik Ganguly is keen to cast Nawazuddin and Pankaj for the Hindi remake of his hit 2019 Bengali film. While the original featured Prosenjit Chatterjee and Ritwick Chakraborty as two brothers, Ganguly is in talks with Pankaj Tripathi for the lead role. The director is apparently keen to cast Nawazuddin Siddiqui as the parallel lead.
The report also added that the story was originally conceived by the late Rituparno Ghosh. It focuses on the quiet discord between two brothers, one, a reigning superstar and the other, an arguably more talented but unsuccessful actor. The director is currently awaiting a nod from Pankaj.
Talking about the same, Tripathi told the news portal that nothing is concrete yet and it is difficult for him to talk about a project that will start in 2022. Even though the actor stated that he loves Kaushik’s works, especially ‘Nagarkirtan’, he is yet to give his nod for the film.
