Saroj Khan’s daughter Sukaina remembered that it was Madhuri’s birthday today. “How could I forget it? My mother had an eternal bond with her. They shared such a fabulous working relationship that it had to be seen to be believed. But after much deliberation, I did not wish her,” confesses Sukaina.
Why? Sukaina says, “There’s so much of my mother in Madhuri. When I see her on TV shows, she reminds me of my mother. Her body language and certain mannerisms have strong shades of my mother. Hence, it was a very emotional moment for me to text her ‘Happy Birthday‘ in view of the fact that my mother is no more. So, I refrained”.
“But with all my heart, I wish her the best in life. My mother from heaven must have sent her all the blessings,” Sukaina adds emotionally.
Sukaina goes on to share how, just yesterday, she and her family were watching Madhuri’s songs from ‘Khalnayak‘. “We often take up a film and do that. We don’t watch the full film but just its songs on YouTube. When I see Madhuri dancing, I think our mom is dancing.”
And which is her favourite Madhuri Dixit song that her mom had choreographed? “My vote goes to ‘Idli Doo’ from ‘Khel’,”she replies, adding that her mother’s favourite Madhuri Dixit number was ‘Humko Aajkal Hai Intezaar’ from ‘Sailaab‘. “I must also say here that we neither went to Madhuri’s house nor did she ever came home. My mother always kept her professional and personal lives apart. But yet, my mother was frequently in touch with her on and off the sets. Even in their later years, when both worked less, they never lost touch with each other,” Sukaina concludes.
