Smita and her parents tested COVID positive on April 29 and the three have now recovered. Talking about her experience, she says, “My parents and I got ourselves tested when we first lost our sense of smell. We quarantined ourselves at home. My parents were really stressed due because of all that was happening around us.We even lost few a few family members due to COVID. These are tough times for everyone.”
About their recovery, she says, “By God’s grace, we have now recovered from the virus and have tested negative. There’s still weakness but that will be cured over a period of time.”
Vaccination is the only way to fight the virus, she says. “If there’s another wave coming we would be in a better position to fight it,” says Smita.
The actress has decided to not take up any work for now. “Post Tera Kya Hoga Alia, I got offers. But I didn’t take them up because they were going to shoot at different locations like Goa, Gujarat etc. After that I tested positive, so I couldn’t take up any show. But now I have consciously decided to not work and until things are back to normal. Life is precious and I need to take care of my parents too. So I choose not to work for a while till things get better,” she says.
