Putting rest to speculations about the upcoming Ravi Teja-starrer releasing on OTT platforms, the film’s crew cleared the air on Sunday and said that the mass entertainer will release only in theatres. Khiladi was slated to release in theatres on May 28 but was postponed due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic. Making an official announcement on Sunday, producer Koneru Satyanarayana said, “There is no way that we are going to release this film on an OTT platform. We have not compromised anywhere, in terms of budget or scale, while making this film. So we don’t intend to compromise now for the film’s release. Whenever the situation improves, Khiladi will entertain the audience on the big screen again.”
The film team recently wrapped up shoot in Italy, where some high-octane action sequences were shot. The crew shifted to Hyderabad after a lockdown was imposed in Italy, but the shoot was halted after several members of the crew, including director Ramesh Varma, tested positive for COVID. Khiladi, which features Ravi Teja in a dual role, also stars Meenakshi Chaudhary and Dimple Hayathi.
