Amid this crisis, social media is playing a significant role in connecting donors and helpers to the families of COVID patients. Several celebs have come forward to engage with their followers to amplify distress calls, share helpline numbers and support relief efforts. A number of celebrities from the entertainment world have joined Twinkle to facilitate public hospitals with oxygen concentrators, which is very much the need of the hour now.
Incidentally, Akshay Kumar had tested positive for covid-19 last month. The actor got himself admitted in a city hospital as a precautionary measure. A week later Twinkle confirmed that he had returned home.
Since last year, Akshay and Twinkle have been doing their bit to help those in need. Apart from sending out monetary aid to various initiatives, the star couple has contributed towards the welfare of policemen, hospital staff, frontline workers and even daily wage workers of the film industry.
