After this incident, the actor found out that despite the lockdown-like situation in the state and a curfew already in place with bans on film, TV, and commercial shoots, some brands were throwing caution to the wind and proceeding with their shoots as planned. When Vipin called up the casting director to find out which brand was the shoot being planned for, so that he could call them out for it, the casting director refused to divulge details. “He told me that they are cancelling the shoot now. But the shoot was already taking place in the city, despite the lockdown-like situation and shoots being prohibited. I was told that some shoots were taking place in actors’ homes too,” reveals Vipin.
Distressed about these covert shoots, the actor points out how there is no proper insurance cover for artists working during Covid times. “Brand owners are not stepping out of their homes and here we have to risk our lives to promote their brands? It is not fair to us,” he fumes.
