Hailing from Saripalli village near Palakollu in Andhra Pradesh, Ravi began his career writing dialogues for films like Nenu Seethamahalakshmi, Pandem and Asadhyudu. In 2014, Ravi made his directorial debut with the film Lakshmi Raave Maa Intiki, starring Naga Shaurya and Avika Gor in lead roles. After the film didn’t fare well at the box-office, Ravi went back to writing. His next directorial with actor Saptagiri was in the works, but was stalled due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Director Vijay Kumar Konda, who worked with Nandyala Ravi in films like Orey Bujjiga and Powerplay, says, “Nandyala Ravi and I have known each other for nine years and he’s like a brother to me. We used to talk every single day. He was a kind, jovial and caring man and I’m shocked beyond belief that he’s no more. He’s been in the hospital for many days but he never gave up hope. In fact, I spoke to him just yesterday and he was doing much better. It’s very unfortunate that he’s now no more. It will take time for me to recover from this blow.”
Several Tollywood actors including Raj Tarun, Saptagiri and Avika Gor, offered their condolences to Ravi’s family.
