While Jyotika’s husband and actor Suriya, Vijay Sethupathi and few others from the film fraternity extended their support to the actress, now, director Era Saravanan has penned a post on social media clarifying the issue surrounding the same. The director has revealed that Jyotika witnessed the Raja Mirasudhar Government Hospital in Thanjavur only during the shooting of his upcoming film ‘Udanpirappe‘, starring Jyotika and Sasikumar in lead roles.
In a long post in Tamil, Era Saravanan said, “When the shooting took place near Thanjavur Government Rasa Mirasudhar Hospital, Jyotika saw pregnant women and expectant mothers waiting there. A mother sitting on the veranda with her baby delivered on the first day shocked them. She expressed her helplessness and pity regarding the situation, but didn’t just stop at talking about it. She went and gave the hospital 25 lakhs. When he speech went viral and created a massive controversy, the government allocated funds for the hospital’s infrastructure and welfare. The then dean of the hospital also made efforts to remove encroachments around the area.”
“More than a dozen snakes were caught while cleaning the hospital premises. All these positive changes caused by Jyotika’s speech,” he concluded.
