Gulki is deeply shaken and finds it very difficult to express feelings looking at the massacre the Afghans are facing. “How can a President flee the country leaving behind everyone else to die, how can people in power leave their countrymen behind”, she questions. “These people get elected for a reason, at the time of need they should protect or atleast stay together with the citizens”, said Gulki.
“I can’t even imagine the state in which those poor children and their parents must be in”, she added.
Gulki who is also very active on all social media platforms says, “We keep watching the news for updates because that is all we can do, since the weekend, hundreds of Afghans have flooded Kabul’s airport, desperate to catch a flight out of the country and avoid the harsh rule of the Taliban. A growing mass of refugees is crossing the border into neighbouring countries, so devastating.”
“I am praying for the women stuck there, Taliban rule means they will be stripped of opportunities for education, also praying desperately for the sick people, Covid has taken many lives already and is continuing to do so everywhere. I pray for the people to get Healthcare and protection,” said Gulki.
