It is known that the authorities have also issued notices to 12 people belonging to the movie industry. Now it was suggested that they should attend the hearing on the said dates. The Abkari branch, which is investigating the Tollywood drugs case, has issued full notices to the SIT officials and directed them to attend the hearing as per the schedule.
The authorities are also likely to prosecute 50 more people in the same case. So far 11 charge sheets have been filed. The accusations include drug dealers from African countries as well as people selling drugs locally. Abkari officials also have reportedly collected samples of nails and hair from these 12 celebrities which they haven’t mentioned anywhere (the names have been maintained a secret).
Currently, a case has been registered under the Money Laundering Act and these 12 people are likely to be questioned as witnesses. If they are found guilty and money laundering has taken place, there is a possibility of registering a case against these celebs, as well.
