Talking about the film, Prabhu says, “The film deals with two issues — the problems that are involved in implementing the rule that people from all castes can become priests, and the issues in reservation. Since we need a law to implement both these, we have titled the film Yennanga Sir Unga
The director informs that he has reused the title and idea from a short film that he had directed for a competition, in which he was the runner-up. RS Karthiik, who has acted in Peechankai, is playing the lead in this film, which also has Rohini, Meera Mitun, Soundarya (of Super Singer fame), Airaa, who had acted in Sagaa, and Junior Balaiah.
Many of the actors have dual roles in the film, reveals Prabhu. Explaining the reason behind this, he says, “This film is a ‘Duplex Movie’. We are terming it so. Remember K Balachander’s Oru Veedu iru Vaasal? Like that one, this one, too, will have one story in the first half and another in the second half. The genres will be totally different in both the halves — a romance-cum-comedy like Premam or Action Hero Biju in the first half and an Aramm-like serious drama in the latter half. But both these stories will join at the climax. Many of the characters you see in the first half’s storyline will appear in the other story as well.”
The director has completed and gotten the film censored. The team with whom he had worked for the short film is part of this film’s crew as well. Guna Balasubramanian, who is composing for Kavin and Losliya’s upcoming film, is the music director of the film, while Arunkrishna Radhakrishnan is the cinematographer.
